Frequently Asked Questions

Who We Are

Milliner Talent Solutions is a staffing and recruiting firm based in Indianapolis, serving Central Indiana businesses and job seekers. We specialize in placing accounting, finance, HR, administrative, customer service and operations professionals through temporary, temp-to-hire and direct hire arrangements. Unlike large national staffing firms, we take a relationship-first approach that prioritizes cultural fit and long-term success over volume.

We focus exclusively on business professional roles including accounting, finance, human resources, administrative support, customer service and operations. Our clients range from small businesses to multi-billion-dollar organizations across Central Indiana. By specializing in these areas rather than trying to be all things to all people, we’ve built deep expertise and strong candidate networks in the fields we serve.

We serve employers and job seekers throughout Central Indiana and across the U.S., with our headquarters located in Indianapolis. Our deep roots in local business community allow us to understand the unique hiring landscape of the region, from company cultures to compensation benchmarks. This local expertise is something national staffing firms simply cannot replicate.

Nearly 8 out of 10 of our direct hire placements remain with their employers after five years, far exceeding industry norms (79% of our direct hire placements are still employed at 5 years, while average annual tenure in the US is 3.5 years according to BLS). Our temporary staffing division maintains a 16% involuntary turnover rate compared to the 41% industry average (American Staffing Association). These results reflect our commitment to matching candidates with roles where they’ll succeed long-term.

We offer several staffing solutions: temporary staffing for short-term projects or coverage needs, temp-to-hire arrangements that let you evaluate candidates before committing to a permanent hire, and direct hire recruiting for full-time positions including executive-level roles. Many clients use a combination of services depending on their needs. We’ll help you determine which approach makes sense for each role.

Recruiting takes significant time and expertise that many HR teams don’t have bandwidth for, especially when filling specialized roles or managing high-volume hiring. A staffing partner like Milliner brings an established candidate network, screening expertise and market knowledge. We handle sourcing, vetting and initial interviews so you can focus on final selection and running your business.

Yes. Milliner & Associates rebranded to Milliner Talent Solutions to better reflect our full range of staffing and recruiting services. Our team, approach and commitment to building lasting partnerships remain the same. We still deliver the relationship-focused service our clients have trusted for nearly 20 years.

While we’re based in Indianapolis and our deepest relationships are in Central Indiana, we do work with companies throughout the state and can support remote hiring for roles that don’t require local presence.

How We Work

The REAL Method is our proprietary approach to staffing and recruiting. It stands for Relationships (building genuine connections with clients and candidates), Evaluation (going beyond the resume to assess skills and fit), Alignment (matching talent with opportunities where they’ll thrive) and Longevity (providing ongoing support to ensure lasting success). This method is why our placements stay longer than the industry average.

As a relationship-based firm, we prioritize quality over quantity. We don’t “spray and pray” by sending stacks of unvetted resumes. Instead, we take time to understand your culture and present only candidates who truly fit. Our 16% involuntary turnover rate compared to the 41% industry average demonstrates that our relationship-focused approach delivers better long-term results than volume-driven national competitors.

It means we measure success by how long placements last, not just how quickly we fill positions. Eighty percent of our direct hire placements are still with their employers after five years. We achieve this by investing time upfront to ensure alignment between candidates and companies, then following up at 30, 60 and 90 days to address any concerns before they become problems.

No. Our services are completely free for job seekers. Employers pay our fees, so you receive career guidance, interview preparation and job placement support at no cost to you. We’re invested in your success because when you thrive in a role, it strengthens our reputation and client relationships.

We act as your advocate throughout the hiring process. We present your qualifications directly to hiring managers, provide insider knowledge about companies and positions, help you prepare for interviews and negotiate offers on your behalf. You also gain access to opportunities that may not be publicly posted, since many employers work exclusively with staffing partners.

Visit our website to browse current openings and submit your resume. One of our recruiters will review your qualifications and reach out if there’s a potential match. Even if we don’t have an immediate opening that fits, we keep qualified candidates on file and proactively reach out when relevant opportunities arise.

We specialize in business professional roles including accounting, finance, human resources, administrative support, customer service and operations positions. Whether you’re seeking an entry level or executive role, looking for a temporary assignment, considering temp-to-hire to test a new company, or ready for a full-time direct hire position, we can help you find opportunities that match your skills and career goals.

Unlike many staffing firms, we offer benefits to our temporary employees including medical insurance. We understand that lack of benefits is a major stressor for temporary workers, so we’ve structured our programs to provide stability and peace of mind while you’re on assignment.

Absolutely. Our recruiters provide resume tips and feedback as part of our process. We know what employers in our market are looking for and can help you present your experience in the most compelling way. We also offer interview preparation and guidance to help you make a strong impression.

FAQs for Employers

Recruiting takes significant time and expertise that many HR teams don’t have bandwidth for, especially when filling specialized roles or managing high-volume hiring. We start with a discovery meeting to understand your position requirements, company culture and what success looks like. Then we tap our candidate network and source new talent, conducting thorough assessments of skills, experience and fit. We present a curated shortlist of qualified candidates, coordinate interviews and support you through offer negotiation and onboarding.

Our average time-to-fill is 34 days, compared to the industry average of 47 days. However, timelines vary based on role complexity, required qualifications and market conditions. We prioritize finding the right fit over filling positions quickly, because a fast bad hire costs far more than taking a few extra days to find the right person.

For temporary staffing, we charge an hourly bill rate that covers the employee’s wages plus our service fee. For direct hire placements, we charge a percentage of the candidate’s first-year salary, due upon successful placement. We’re happy to discuss specific rates during our initial conversation and can structure arrangements to fit your budget and needs.

We stand behind our placements. For direct hire positions, we offer a replacement guarantee within a specified period. For temporary assignments, we’ll work quickly to find a replacement if a candidate isn’t meeting expectations. Our goal is your long-term success, so we address issues proactively through our 30/60/90-day check-in process.

While we’re based in Indianapolis and our deepest relationships are in Central Indiana, we work with companies throughout the U.S.

The right job is waiting for you.
